What's Next for this Year's Oscar Winners?

Traditionally once the Oscars are over, one of the first questions critics ask is what’s next? What will the latest Oscar winners do in order to live up to their newly acquired subtitle of “Academy Award winner.” Following Sunday night’s telecast,  The Envelope reports on what’s next for Oscar’s biggest winners.

After being named the first woman in history to claim the best director trophy, Kathryn Bigelow has already signed on to reteam with Locker producer Mark Boal for the new film Triple Frontier, a thriller set against the backdrop of South America. In addition, Bigelow is set to direct the premiere episode of HBO’s newest series The Miraculous Year.

Best actor winner Jeff Bridges will be appearing in the high profile sequel to the classic film Tron to be released in December. The actor is also set to reunite with the Coen brothers on a remake of the film True Grit.Coming off the best year of her career, best actress winner Sandra Bullock has yet to choose a new project. According to the article, the actress may potentially star in the new comedy Bobbie Sue.

As for the best supporting winners, Precious star Mo’Nique also has yet to sign on for a new film. She will, however, continue to host her successful talk show on BET. Best supporting actor winner and Inglourious Basterds star Christoph Waltz has signed on to play another villain in the highly anticipated Green Hornet.
